Common Questions
Frequently asked lAwn care questions
How often should my lawn be mowed for optimal grass growth?
For optimal grass health and growth, most lawns should be mowed once a week during the active growing season, following the “one-third rule” which means never removing more than one-third of the grass blade at a time to avoid stressing the lawn.
What lawn care services are included in your lawn maintenance service?
Our lawn maintenance service includes routine lawn mowing, edging along concrete surfaces and garden beds, trimming along perimeter lines, blowing off concrete surfaces and bagging all grass clippings and debris.
How do I know if my lawn is in need of fertilization?
A few telltale signs that your lawn is hungry for fertilization include slow or patchy growth, yellowing or pale green grass, thinning turf, and an overall dull appearance. These are all signals that the soil is lacking the essential nutrients needed to keep your lawn vibrant and healthy.
Do you use harmful chemicals in your weed control treatments?
No we do not use any chemicals in our weed control treatments. We remove all weeds manually, by hand and with a weed trimmer.
How short should my grass be cut?
As a general rule, most grass types should be cut to a height of 3 to 4 inches, as taller grass develops deeper roots, retains moisture better, and naturally crowds out weeds, cutting too short, a practice known as “scalping,” stresses the lawn and leaves it vulnerable to disease, pests, and drought.
Why does my lawn have brown spots?
Brown spots in your lawn can be caused by a number of things including drought stress, fungal disease, insect damage, pet urine, dull mower blades, or even compacted soil. We will access the problem and treat it for whatever it needs to get the affected areas healthy and green again.
Do I need to be home when you service my property?
No you do not need to be home. As long as we have access to any gated off parts of the lawn we can do everything we need without you being present.
